Equipped with the desirable 6-speed manual transmission, the clutch feel is excellent and gear changes are precise. The 18″ hollow spoke wheels are original and correct. Cosmetically the car is exceptionally clean with a few minor stone chips that have been touched up and one small scratch on the driver’s door. The interior is equally tidy with one small tear in the passenger seat bottom, easily addressed by a leather repair specialist.
Most importantly, this car has had every critical preventive maintenance item performed — including the IMS bearing, the single most significant concern on the 996 platform. The LN Engineering dual-row bearing was installed in April 2018 alongside a new clutch kit, flywheel, crankshaft seal, oil separator, and cam plugs — a comprehensive engine-out service representing a $9,007 investment. The water pump and thermostat, two additional known wear items on this engine, were replaced just months prior at AutoHaus of Boulder. The cambelt was replaced at the same visit as the IMS. This is not a deferred-maintenance car. Everything has been done, documented, and done correctly.
