Engine
The engine starts instantly and maintains excellent oil pressure. While completely driveable, the idle is not as smooth or refined as a perfectly tuned GTV6. These engines often benefit from injector cleaning or addressing minor air/vacuum leaks—both common issues. Overall, the engine appears healthy with no smoke. Custom exhaust setup installed.

Gearbox
The clutch feels strong and healthy. The gearbox shifts smoothly through all gears, with no grinding or pop-out, including a clean and grind-free 2nd gear engagement—rare for a GTV6.
Driving
On the road, the car behaves as a proper GTV6 should: balanced, responsive, and remarkably stable at speed. Suspension and brakes feel solid. A light rear-end thud is present under hard acceleration, but does not seem overly concerning.
Body & Paint
The body is very straight with excellent factory panel gaps and no signs of accident damage. The car received a quality repaint in the factory Alfa Rosso; the finish retains deep gloss and presents very well overall. There are a few minor bubbles and scratches (see images).
The front strut towers previously had rust—common on GTV6s—which has been repaired. The repair is functional, but not cosmetically perfect. Undercarriage is very solid with only one small area of rust on the lower passenger-side front fender (see images)
All factory glass remains original. Manual sunroof operates properly. Rear window louvers are installed.
Tires are newer with plenty of tread, mounted on attractive gold-finished wheels, all in excellent condition.
Interior
The interior cabin presents beautifully – very tidy and well-preserved. with only a few notable flaws:
• A small tear on the driver’s seat bolster
• Cracking on the top of the dash
• Knob for the blower fan is broken off (knob is still included with the car)
Electrical & Accessories
• Blower fan and heater: Operational
• A/C: Not operational
• Headlights, brake lights, and turn signals: Operational
• Wipers: Operational
• Fuel, oil pressure, and temperature gauges: Operational
• Speedometer, tachometer, and odometer: Not functioning (speedometer cable needed; true mileage unknown)
• Power windows: Not operational (replacement regulator from Europe are included)
This 1986 Alfa Romeo GTV6 is a solid, well-maintained example with extensive recent mechanical work and many functional upgrades. It drives well and can be enjoyed as-is, while continuing to address its minor needs over time.
