1968 MG MGB Roadster – Restored | 4-Speed Manual | Chrome Wire Wheels

This 1968 MGB Roadster has undergone extensive restoration and presents as a solid driver with a few caveats. Equipped with a 4-speed manual gearbox, the car features numerous new and refreshed components throughout.

Major recent work includes a rebuilt engine, new clutch assembly (pressure plate, throw-out bearing, and ring gear), and new alternator, starter, and water pump. Both brake and suspension systems were fully rebuilt with new shocks (front and rear), all-new flexible lines, rear springs, and fresh components throughout. The clutch master and slave cylinders, hoses, and emergency brake cable were also replaced. A new wiring harness, lights, side trim, and complete exhaust system were installed. The chrome wire wheels wear new Petlas tires, and the car benefits from a dual-battery setup for reliable starting.

The interior has been completely renewed, including new upholstery, carpets, door panels, seat components, dash overlay, steering wheel, and floor mats. The dashboard presents well with no cracks or blemishes, and the soft top is brand new and professionally fitted.

Mechanically, the engine runs strong with excellent oil pressure. The gearbox shifts smoothly through all gears, though third gear does pop out under deceleration. 3rd gear remains engaged under acceleration (see video). This may indicate wear in the synchronizer or detent spring/ball, The car is fully derivable as-is.

The body and undercarriage are straight, solid, and completely rust-free. The engine bay is tidy and presents well. Paintwork is best described as fair — likely an amateur respray — but it remains very usable from 10–20 feet. There are multiple flaws and blemishes in the paint and prep (see images).
Included in the sale is a large folder of receipts, a driver’s handbook, factory workshop manual, Haynes repair manual, and assorted spare parts (see images).

Overall, this MGB offers an excellent combination of originality, extensive restoration work, and mechanical reliability — ready to enjoy as is or continue refining to your desired level.

This MGB is sold with a clean and clear title.
